Mr Stripez was just minding his own business munching on some grass in his place of display for sale at the Ice House Gallery and then came a tornado!
Mr Stripez is a tornado survivor of the Mayfield Tornado that swept through our region on December 10, 2021. He was found in the midst of some rubble and debris of the Ice House Gallery shortly before Christmas. He still looks pretty good, too.
If you see a bit of dirt or debris on his glass it is because some of it was hard to remove, and it is a reminder of the story he could tell about that night, if he is asked.
This painting/multi-media artwork was handcrafted and painted by Gretchen Hedrich of Paducah, Kentucky, using acrylic paints and glass pieces.
Be careful, some pieces of grass were slightly broken in the tornado. He is resilient and strong. Just like Mayfield!
