Char Downs (1947, Mangum, OK, United States) creates mixed media artwork and installations.
In this installation, “In the Key of C: CODA,” she takes a simple code, such as music notation, as subject matter while commenting on the everyday aesthetic of accepted values. When communication is transformed into art, art becomes a symbol.
