The Allen County Museum and Historical Society (ACM) is a campus of the main museum, a large fully furnished Victorian house and a mid-1800s log house. ACM tells the story of the Western Ohio region fro prehistory through the industrial revolution that defined much of the 19th century, the turmoil and continued scientific and social changes of the 20th century, and the uncertainties of our present time. The permanent collection includes a broad range of disciplines that span the breadth of American history. ACM also houses one of the largest train-related collection in the United States. The MacDonell House is a three-story Victorian shingle style house built in 1893 and contains collections of furniture, ceramic arts, glass and textiles. The mid-19th century log house is one of the oldest in the county and is furnished with artifacts that reflect the early settlement of western Ohio.
