The Balboa Island Museum Newport Beach (previously the Balboa Island Museum & Historical Society) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded to preserve, explore and promote the history, heritage and culture of the Island and the greater Newport Beach community.
Balboa Island, with all its allure and charm, has been a favorite California location for locals and vacationers alike. Visitors will be fascinated by the display of memorabilia, including classic photographs that depict the Island’s captivating history; from the landmark Pavilion built in 1906, to the famous Frozen Banana, Balboa Bar, and the Balboa Fun Zone, the Balboa Island Museum provides a place where locals and visitors have fun while learning. The Museum is also the home to an exclusive exhibit: John Wayne: At Home in SoCal, 1920 – 1979, featuring some of the Duke’s personal family photos.
