Founded in 1935, the Canton Museum of Art (CMA) is where art meets life, providing opportunities for everyone to discover, explore, learn, and be inspired through a connection with American art. Through creative exhibitions, imaginative programs, and sharing American art and its stories through our Collection, CMA engages, educates, entertains, and enriches our visitors and community.
CMA is recognized for powerful exhibitions focused on American art, its influences and themes that allow everyone to be inspired. CMA presents 12 to 14 original exhibitions per year, with genres ranging from Impressionism to Regionalism, Realism to Pop, Surrealism and beyond. These include exhibitions in partnership with museums around the country, new featured artists, and themed exhibitions that make our Collections come alive. CMA’s acclaimed Collections focus on watercolors and other works from the 19th century forward, plus contemporary ceramics. CMA is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
