The Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County is an interdisciplinary museum of history, science, and art. We’re located in downtown Crawfordsville, Indiana, and housed in Indiana’s first Carnegie Library, a historic building that opened to the public in 1902; the museum opened in 2007.
The Carnegie Museum has seven galleries on two floors with a variety of themes and rotating exhibits focusing on the history of Montgomery County. The museum also hosts a variety of state and national traveling exhibits each year, along with hands-on science activities and local art shows. We strive to make history, science, art, and culture accessible to visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, plus Tuesdays in June and July. Admission is free, and the building is wheelchair and stroller accessible, with a street-level entrance and an elevator to the second floor. NARM members receive a 10% discount in our gift shop with card.
