The Cayuga Museum of History and Art engages the community to appreciate local history, promotes the arts, and educates individuals about the invention of sound-on-film through the operation of the Museum, Case Research Laboratory, and Carriage House Theater. Preserving a campus of three distinct historical buildings, the Museum leads an eclectic purpose as the county history museum, the historic birthplace of sound-on-film technology, and a multi-arts performance space. The Cayuga Museum serves visitors through onsite and virtual engagement, providing immersive exhibitions, community centered programming, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) activities for school groups, and a space for visitors to consider the interconnection of history, art, and science.
