The Mission of the Floyd County Historical Society is to keep alive an active interest in Floyd County history by collecting, preserving, and interpreting materials relating to Floyd County. The museum is open year-round, Wednesday-Saturday from 9am to 4pm.

In addition to preserving area history, the Floyd County Museum is the largest repository for Hart-Parr, Oliver, and White Farm Equipment. As such, the museum boasts a wide array of documentation and materials from the corporate files of Hart-Parr, Oliver, Minneapolis Moline, Cockshutt, and White tractor corporations. This huge collection holds manuals, build information, and more relating to farm implements produced in the 20th century by these companies. These materials are available for purchase by contacting the museum either by phone or email. A full catalog of offerings is also available on the museum website.
