The Frances M. Maguire Art Museum, set in the beautiful Barnes Arboretum was once home to the Barnes Foundation. Now fully integrated with the Saint Joseph’s University campus in Philadelphia, the Maguire Art Museum features refreshed and modernized interiors, including 15 galleries, teaching and performance space, and enhanced accessibility. The museum celebrates the power of art to inspire imagination and curiosity and to cultivate critical thinking and dialogue. The museum feature 3 rotating exhibition spaces, offering several new exhibits over the year.

The product of decades of generous gifts and acquisitions through Saint Joseph’s University’s, the Maguire Art Museum’s permanent collection comprises approximately 2,500 artworks produced over a nearly 3,000-year period in North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Especially well represented are works produced in Latin America from the 17th through the 20th centuries.
