Gore Place is a 50-acre country estate in the city, a grand mansion steeped in history, a working farm, and an invaluable community asset. Our mission is to preserve and promote Christopher and Rebecca Gore’s 1806 country estate as a community resource telling the story of early 19th century American life. Gore Place is located on the Waltham and Watertown line in Eastern Massachusetts, just nine miles west of downtown Boston. We offer programs year-round, including guided tours of the grounds and historic buildings. For details, visit www.goreplace.org. Gore Place is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
