The International African American Museum (IAAM) explores the African American journey through the power of place by acknowledging the achievements of these individuals, exhibiting how their labor, resistance, and ingenuity has shaped every aspect of our world.

Located in Charleston, S.C., the museum sits at the historically sacred site of Gadsden’s Wharf, one of the country’s most prolific slave trading ports.
