Lakewold Gardens is an historic estate and ten-acre botanical garden. In addition to providing year-round access to the gardens, Lakewold presents a range of cultural programming including art exhibitions, live classical concerts, environmental education, and veteran programs. Once a private home, Lakewold Gardens has been run as a public non profit since 1986.
Lakewold Gardens is on the National Historic Register and was recently awarded funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. The organization’s mission is to provide meaningful encounters with the life-changing power of nature, fostering peace, creativity and healing in our communities. The last resident and owner of the estate, Eulalie Wagner, had strong ties to the garden community that blossomed in the Pacific Northwest in the 1950s – 1970s. Her hope was that her garden would live on, to be shared with all.
