The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum invites you to run amuck with Tom & Huck! Come see where the stories start in Hannibal, Missouri. Meet the people who inspired Twain’s famous characters like Tom Blankenship, the son of the town drunk and model for Huckleberry Finn. Laura Hawkins, the original “girl next door,” inspired Becky Thatcher, Tom’s sweetheart. Learn about the facts behind the fiction and see how this little river town shaped The Father of American Literature. The museum is open every day, all year round, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Easter. Your admission is good for two days so you will have plenty of time to see both museum buildings, five historic properties, Twain’s belongings, original Norman Rockwell paintings, and so much more!
