The Maitlda Joslyn Gage Center is located in the home of Matilda Joslyn Gage, writer, suffragist, abolitionist, and social justice advocate. She was part of the original triumvirate of the Suffragist movement with Susan B. Anthony and Eliabeth Cady Stanton but was written out of history due to her radical stances on equal rights for all people.

Matilda’s house offers an engaging experience for visitors of all ages. With a “please touch policy,” learning about this fascinating woman becomes an adventure. For OZ enthusiasts, this is L. Frank Baum’s mother-in-law and her influence on the stories is another aspect of the museum space. Visit us to learn more!
