The Michigan Maritime Museum, located on the waterfront in South Haven, Michigan, preserves and shares the maritime heritage of Michigan’s Great Lakes and waterways. Through historic vessels, artifacts, exhibitions, educational programs, and immersive experiences, the Museum connects visitors to the people, communities, industries, and stories shaped by the lakes.
The Museum’s waterfront campus features historic boats, galleries, exhibit buildings, a working boat shed, docks, a learning center, and outdoor spaces along the Black River. Visitors can explore permanent and changing exhibitions, climb aboard historic vessels, participate in educational programs, attend lectures and special events, and experience the Great Lakes from the water.
Serving more than 40,000 visitors annually, the Museum operates as a year-round cultural and educational institution. Its programs serve families, students, educators, residents, tourists, members, and maritime enthusiasts.
