The Museum of Wayne County History in Lyons, NY has been amazing and delighting visitors for over 60 years. This unique facility, largely unchanged since it’s construction in 1855, is located in a stately Victorian-era edifice which formerly housed the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Residence, with the county jail attached.
Come see our three floors of exhibition space, which include two cell blocks, the 1890’s-era kitchen where Sheriffs’ wives prepared food for the inmates, a Viking spearhead featured on the History Channel, and much more. Our carriage house with transportation and agricultural artifacts is open seasonally.
