Founded in 1969, the National Women’s Hall of Fame is the nation’s first and oldest nonprofit organization and museum dedicated to celebrating the achievements of distinguished American women. Located in the historic Seneca Knitting Mill on the banks of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, the Hall is a vibrant space for education, inspiration, and action.
We are committed to engaging every generation in honoring women whose courage, vision, and leadership have transformed our world. Through storytelling, education, and advocacy, the Hall elevates women’s voices, empowers changemakers, and advances gender equity.
Induction into the Hall is at the heart of our mission. Each inductee’s story is preserved and shared through permanent and rotating exhibits, dynamic programming, and outreach efforts that extend beyond our museum walls.
