Founded in 1941 by Ralph Hubbard Norton and Elizabeth Calhoun Norton, the Museum was established to share their growing collection of art with the public and became South Florida’s first art museum. Today, the Norton is home to more than 8,900 works spanning five curatorial departments. Building on more than eight decades of collecting, exhibitions, education, and community engagement, the Museum continues its founders’ vision of making exceptional art accessible while serving the diverse communities of Palm Beach County and audiences from around the world.
