The Greater Denton Arts Council is housed in the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center, located between Denton, Texas’ Downtown Square and emerging innovation district. Built in 1927, this historic building was originally the city’s steam power plant. Renovated in the 1980s, the Arts Center now offers two large galleries, an art studio, and a dance rehearsal hall. The centerpiece of the venue is Festival Hall, a 5000 sq. ft event and exhibition space with soaring window-filled ceilings and original industrial hardware. The Arts Council offers seasonal exhibitions in each of its galleries, as well as a revolving cycle of community programs and events.
