The Whittier Home & Museum is the home of poet and abolitionist John Greenleaf Whittier. Built circa 1829, Whittier moved there in 1836 and lived there until he died in 1892. Visitors learn about Whittier’s poetry, his work as an abolitionist, and view the very rooms where he wrote “Snowbound” and his other famous works.
