“My sculptures express the beauty of nature and the tension created by our manipulation of the environment. Through abstraction, I translate my visions of botanical shapes and landscapes into beautiful organic forms and surfaces to increase the viewer’s emotional connection with nature. I use manufactured elements as disparate parts of the organic forms to create tension meant to bring about a consciousness within the viewer.” –Steve Belz
