“Time to Play” is a family-friendly exhibition of works by local and international artists that incorporates both visual objects and immersive art to encourage forms of play through education and creativity. From Modernist kinder play to current methods of virtual gaming, visitors are welcome to observe and relate to contemporary art through a dynamic lens.
Beginning in the main gallery, visitors will encounter a conceptual playground with Froebel block-inspired paintings by Zsofia Schweger; brightly colored large-scale constructions by Chris Bogia; abstract tennis works on paper by Maria Molteni; handcrafted basketball hoops by The New Craft Artists in Action (NCAA); and a newly commissioned LEGO® brick basketball sculpture by Nathan Sawaya. The exhibition continues with an immersive site-specific installation by Jen Clay; gaming video and paintings by Leo Castañeda; and hybrid video-art games by Samuel Lopez De Victoria.
