A Question of Balance: Selected Works from Pacific Rim Sculptors
On view through May 26, 2024
Museum of Sonoma County
Santa Rosa, California

A call for entries invited artists who are members of Pacific Rim Sculptors to submit artworks addressing the balance-related theme. The invitation included this common definition of ‘balance’: “a state of equilibrium or equipoise; equal distribution of weight or amount, or something used to produce equilibrium.”

Artists used their own interpretations in materials, techniques, subject matter, or a combination of concepts to address the theme of balance. The resulting exhibition features 46 sculptors representing a diverse range of approaches, techniques, and materials. Included are sculptural works in metal, wood, stone, mixed media, and installation in sizes ranging from nine inches to over 12 feet in height.
