Using oils as a primary medium, Amy Tolbert-Faggard includes a variety of subject matter while employing a number of different techniques. When asked about what “Chasing Realism” meant to her, Amy said, “Chasing Realism is a journey into the depiction of realistic art… Realistic art, whether it be a landscape or a still-life, awakens all your senses. In your mind’s eye, you can feel a breeze, the warmth of the sun, or anticipate the rain. You can feel the texture of detailed fabric or run your hand over a cold glass vase. Everyone relates to realism whether they realize it or not.”
