The A.E. Backus Museum and Gallery is delighted to present “Collage Mirage: The Art of Derek Gores.” Gores is an internationally acclaimed artist celebrated for his striking and inventive collage compositions.
Taken from the French word for “to glue,” collage describes the technique of arranging and attaching paper and other unexpected materials to form a new and unique visual composition. Collage has a rich history and the process and resulting production can free the mind from the confines of realism and linear thinking, challenging and reshaping the viewer’s expectations and conventional traditions of art.
