“Eric Serritella: Abscission” showcases the artist’s remarkable ceramic trompe l’oeil sculptures—hyper-realistic carvings of birch bark, charred wood, and weathered organic forms that blur the boundary between the natural world and the artist’s imagination. Named for the botanical process by which trees shed what they no longer need, Abscission reflects Serritella’s own cycles of release, renewal, and creative transformation.
Alongside his celebrated ceramic work, the exhibition highlights Serritella’s new explorations in glass, where color, translucency, and an inner radiance expand his long-standing dialogue with nature. Together, these works trace an evolution in material and meaning, inviting viewers to consider how change—across seasons, ecosystems, and artistic practice—can open new ways of seeing.
