ARTS Southeast is pleased to present “Figure/Ground,” a Summer Group Exhibition of work by our community of Artist Supporters in the Supporter Gallery.
The human figure has been a subject for artists for thousands of years, grounding us in who we are individually and collectively. From ancient cave paintings to contemporary questions of identity, authorship and representation, documenting ourselves and capturing the likenesses of others is deeply human. For this exhibition, artists were invited to submit figurative work in any medium. Whether traditional or alternative media, realism or abstraction, each work featured contemplates the human form.
