Liz Whitney Quisgard aims to engage the mind through visually striking patterns, embracing the decorative aspect of art. Born in 1929 in Philadelphia, Quisgard began her art journey early, earning multiple degrees, including an MFA in sculpture. Her vibrant works, created in her Lower Manhattan studio, feature kaleidoscopic elements reminiscent of Classical and Byzantine architecture. This exhibition, “Kaleidoscope” highlights these lively yarn and buckram pieces, which were generously donated by the artist.
