The Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History’s “Narwhal: Revealing an Arctic Legend” debuts at the Monmouth Museum this fall to take visitors beneath the icy surface and learn about the narwhal’s biology, migration patterns, and cultural significance through the lens of both Inuit communities and scientific researchers. Through an enormous life-sized model, innovative displays, and first-hand accounts, the exhibit invites audiences of all ages to discover how traditional knowledge and cutting-edge science combine to help us better understand the narwhal and the fragile Arctic environment it inhabits.
