Featuring 5 large, marine, watercolor paintings by acclaimed, local artist Helen May Smith. A student at the Milwaukee Art Institute in the 1890’s, Mrs. Smith later studied under local artists Anna Althea Hills, George Brandiff, Arthur Beaumont and Millard Sheets while painting daily in her Balboa Island home-studio. Her subjects included marine scenes and seascapes, as well as landscapes of Yosemite and the Mother Lode region of the Sierra Nevada.
