The Boat Trip: Etchings by Charles François Daubigny
On view June 17–September 10, 2023

Rarely displayed publicly, this special exhibition documents Charles François Daubigny’s first studioboat voyages on the river Seine north of Paris. The etchings show the playful, whimsical side of the French artist known for paintings with innovative,water-level perspectives captured from his studio boat. The works are on loan from the estate of Sallie Robinson Wadsworth. The etchings themselves don’t show his innovative water-level perspectives, rather they are a personal narrative of life on his boat.
