Jill S. Krutick is a contemporary abstract expressionist whose work emphasizes color and texture. Influenced by her love of old masters such as Van Gogh and Monet, and current artists like Gerhardt Richter, Krutick has developed work that is both imaginative and stimulating. Her paintings trace a joyful path of creative exploration and discovery. She layers paint and glazes over swirling textures in a series of actions and reactions akin to jazz. Krutick’s first brushstrokes set the tempo and key. “You start on a journey,” she says. “Shapes emerge, stories germinate, and concepts develop.”
