Danville, California
blackhawkmuseum.org

The Spirit of the Old West exhibition tells the story of the western frontier, between the early 1700’s and the early 1900’s, from the perspective of both the Native Americans and the settlers before, during and after the expansion west. The exhibition features artifacts from the period, a large diorama depicting key historic moments, scenes of wildlife from the frontier and other elements that bring the past to life.

There are sections on California History, Spanish Missions, the Oregon Trail, the Trans-Continental railroad, the Mormon Migration and rotating exhibits from the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.
